Come on, do yourself a favor, hang up the call of yesterday and dial in to your present. It is not healthy for you to carry your yesterday’s luggage while standing on the present’s platform.
With this, hi guys, I am here with something so easy to understand yet takes years in getting implemented in life. I am talking about the ‘P’ word or you can say ‘Y’ word. Before you start taking your mind on rides having nothing to do here, let me clarify, I am talking about ‘Past’ and ‘Yesterday’.
In the journey of life, which is leading towards future, there is no fun of taking a ‘U-turn’ to past. You are not going to make it to the past, anyway. So, why let the things of past shake legs on the dance floor of your present.
Life is to live in ‘Present’, neither past nor future. Strive to make your present so damn good that the memories of past don’t swing in your head or stir your heart, and you don’t have to look for future to enjoy what you have in hand, at present.
Lead life with a reality in mind that not everybody out there is blessed with a life to live, and while you have a life, live it to the utmost, without any if’s and but’s. If’s and but’s will always keep on hindering the way to your happiness, but you don’t have to focus on them.
I know the things must have been really good in the past that you so dedicatedly want to replicate them. But, let me ask you a question that, what’s exactly the point of leading a life of same type, a life filled with same experiences, etc. Embrace everything coming your way happily, because you don’t have any choice, either. Change will bump into your face sooner or later, so why not accept it, and lead a content life?
Be it the childhood era you want back, or the moments spent with your loved ones, you have to move on, in fact, you must do so to taste every aspect of life. I admit, it’s not easy to shrug-off the memories which have left marks on your heart or mind. But, you can always choose to focus on what you have in the present moment.
Logically, there is no point of looking back. Live, laugh, love, and make the most of your life. Here are some things you can do and remember in low times or the time when the past tries to overshadow your beautiful present:
- Breathe in, breathe out, and move on.
- Look at your watch, the ‘second’ you have now will become past in the blink of an eye.
- Count your blessings. Note, there is nothing like, ‘I have no blessings in life’ or ‘I am not blessed’.
- Look at your family, they love you. Give them moments to cherish.
- Life is unpredictable, believe me.
- Shower love, spread happiness and smile.
- Learn from a dog, how he lives in the present always.
- Above all, God has given you his life to live, not to ponder about anything that doesn’t going to make any difference in the rest of your life.
- Fall in love with self.
The crux is, there is no place for the baggage of your past or yesterday in your present. So, better leave it in its right place, i.e. past. While you have a beautiful life to live, cherish the little things, there is beauty in everything around you, you just need to see it.
I really enjoyed reading this and I recently started a mindfulness thingy where I let myself be absorbed fully by whatever experience I’m going through at any given moment and it is bliss. Well not all of it is bliss but living life never felt better and you captured all of it in this post. Thanks for sharing.
