Nobody Can Define You Better Than You!

Hi Guys, Happy New Year. I wish 2018 bring the best in you and fulfill all your desires. Well, stepping into this year, have promised myself that I won’t believe the definition of myself coming from somebody else. And, this is the thing I am going to talk about today.
There is nothing in this world that can make us feel worthless in life if we refuse to accept their definition. Nobody can indeed define you better than you. Even if somebody tries doing so, make their words powerless right away by paying no heed to them.

The world is packed with people who love to pass judgments, spread gossip, etc. but like I said, you have the power to make them powerless. A simple act of ignorance can save you from a lot of mess in life.

Being a victim of a similar scenario in adversity, I must confess, nothing pains you as much as being taken wrongly, or defined in a way that doesn’t reflect you. The constant misconceptions about self, literally take all the peace away. The effect is severe when it is coming from somebody really close.

So, with the onset of 2018, I have decided to do anything in life, but not to ponder about what somebody else thinks about me, or how somebody defines me. At the end, what all matters is what you think about yourself.

The reality is you can’t stop anybody from taking you wrong, or talking bad about you, but what you can do is make all the shit coming from people powerless with utmost ignorance.

Nobody has the right to make you feel bad about yourself. And, if you get belittled merely by the murmurings or gossips of people around, you are stupid. I know it feels like a sharp arrow in the heart when somebody close to you judges you. But let me tell you, it happens, happens a lot of times. But, all you must practice is how to stop yourself from giving any reaction.

Like I mentioned above I have had gone through such a case, that too a severe one. But, I will reserve it for some other time. For now, I would say nobody knows you better than you, then why pay heed to somebody else’s opinion of you before telling yourself about who you really are.

People have a habit of making perceptions about others. Once they have seen a side of yours, they start judging you on it, which is bad. And, the worst part is, no matter how much you improve or change yourself, they won’t stop judging you on the basis of your that side. The funniest part is, they continue doing so, no matter that side exists in you or not, anymore.

In a nutshell, I would say, life is short, and moments pass in a blink of an eye, so why to waste even a micro-second of this beautiful life on what others say or think about you. It is none of your business, what you are meant to do while you are here on this beautiful Earth, is to love and nourish yourself to the utmost.

Here are some quick reminders to keep in mind, if ever you fall into such a situation:

  • Nobody knows you better than you.
  • Loving yourself is your thing to do. Nobody else will do it for you.
  • Nobody is perfect.
  • Be proud of yourself for keeping yourself open to learning.
  • Your mood depends on you and nobody else.
  • You have entered this world alone, and will leave alone.
  • Deep down you know where you lack and where you excel. So, don’t take anybody else’s definition of you seriously.
  • People criticize you for not behaving in the way they want? Just laugh it out.
  • Never give up on yourself, there isn’t anybody else to hold on to you till the end.
  • Love yourself.
  • Don’t forget to smile.

Before I bid you adieu, I would say, darling think, think about yourself. Your body and your soul is all that you have. Nobody is going to give a shit whether you are happy or sad, so, why not be happy then.

Happy Reading.

Love.

  1. ‘My mood depends on me’, You’ve called me out there. I’ve been in a low murmuring kind of funk, looking around, seeing who’s causing it…it’s me. Thanks for putting it clearly, but also with some gentleness. Your follow felt like a hug much needed. Thank you!
